Endeavour Flyover

Endeavour, accompanied by two fighter jets, approaches Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Hills.

It was the end of an era. Today, the space shuttle Endeavour departed from Edwards AFB, flew up to Sacramento and the Bay Area, and then made its way back to Southern California to fly over various landmarks before making its final landing at LAX.

The shuttle will be housed at the United Airlines hangar until Oct. 12, when it will make its way to its permanent home at the California Science Center.
